Don't worry, be happy...
Oh dear, I haven't updated my website in a long, long time...and oh, I haven't applied for a job yet! ...I really need to, I'm completely broke...again...and I still ought to pay for several things... And I haven't studied for my exams yet, either... Oh, how am I going to get it all done? ...I hope the insurance company doesn't charge too much for the accident... I haven't practiced the piano in a while either...or singing... My room's a mess... Rexi needs some attention... I still need to e-mail a couple of people...

...that's how it's been inside my head the last few weeks, only a lot more so... I worry...a lot...and I don't particularly enjoy it... But the thing is, all these things I worry about are things that are my own fault...
On Saturday I was at a (absolutely beautiful!!) wedding, out somewhere in the middle of nowhere by a lake. It was very quiet. ...it's extremely difficult to find places that are quiet in Switzerland 'cause it's a somewhat small-ish country and everything's rather close together. So this place was special. At one point when nothing particular was going on I set out to find a lil place to rest. I sat down by the lake. It was evening, the air smelled clean and sweet, it was peaceful. ...but I wasn't at peace!
Then I felt like God told me that He wanted to give me peace, to take away my worries, to give me rest. ...and my though was: "But I don't deserve rest!" Then God reminded me how the Bible verse which promises that was worded...

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

...He did NOT say, "Come to me, all of you who are without sin and have done nothing wrong..."
Worrying zaps energy...I notice that when I work out. If I think about school and all the stuff that still needs to be done, and am somewhat stressed about it, I have much more trouble lifting weights.
Worrying steals time, too... Ever catch yourself sitting in the same position for several minutes, just thinking about all that needs to be done?
We know that stress is bad for your health, and what causes stress? Worries!!
Worrying does no good whatsoever, it does NOT help you to get things done sooner, it does NOT help you remember what still needs to be done, it is in NO WAY WHATSOEVER helpful!
...so, if you are weary and carry heavy burdens, take them to God, and He will not only give you rest, but He'll help you, wherever you are right now in life, and He'll help you get all those things done, too... ;-)

Always be full of joy!

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again - rejoice!
Philippians 4:4

You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done.
Psalm 92:4

Oh, what joy for those whose rebellion is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!
Psalm 32:1

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23a

Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.
James 1:2-4

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and steady, always enthusiastic about the Lord's work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
1 Corinthians 15:58

So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!
Psalm 32:11

Shout to the Lord, all the earth; break out in praise and sing for joy!
Psalm 98:4

An example for being joyful... ;-)

Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Rejoice. Change your ways. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
2 Corinthians 13:11

You came to my rescue...

Falling on my knees in worship
Giving all I am to seek Your face
Lord all I am is is Yours

My whole life
I place in Your hands
God of mercy
Humbled I bow down
In your presence at Your throne

I called You answered
And You came to my rescue and I
I wanna be where You are

In my life be lifted high
In our world be lifted high
In our love be lifted high
